Save Money with ALPHA evo & TWIN6 August 2012
HARDI goes on a visit to a Polish farmer, who became the owner of the first ALPHA evo. The first ALPHA evo More spraying days every year
The temperature has already reached 20 degrees in the shadow when we drive into the yard at Polish Plastrol.
A heavy traffic in and out of the yard shows that things are not running slowly at the combined farming and plastic producing business, which on a daily basis is run by almost 100 employees. The owner Mr. Julian Kałuża tells us "we have been producing plastic here for almost 30 years. We are making parts for refrigerators, electrical sockets and electricity grids...The farming part of this business has been run for the last 20 years with its ups and downs."
Rencently, another machine was added to the big machine park - a self-propelled HARDI ALPHA evo with a 4100 l tank and a 24 m TWIN boom - which is the first ALPHA evo ever delivered worldwide. "In Poland, and especially in this area, we have a lot of open fields with wind often around 9 m/sec. With the HARDI TWIN system, it is no longer a problem for us to do a perfect coverage and precise spraying."
Saving money with TWIN
Plastrol started out with around 300 ha. Today, they have more than 1400 ha comprising of 300 ha of wheat, 400 ha of rape seed, 200 ha of barley and 100 ha of maize. The rest is sown with other crops. "The ALPHA will definitely help us improving efficiency of our everyday spraying, and together with the TWIN system we expect to save a lot of money on chemicals as well as to achieve a higher working speed."
Plastrol chose to invest in an ALPHA evo after two neighbours had been talking very positively about the earlier ALPHA model, which they owned. They had reached a saving of 30% on their chemical budget with the ALPHA TWIN.
Mr. Julian Kałuża is looking forward to seeing how the ALPHA evo is going to help him to get the most out of his maize and barley crops, and here, his expectations are high. "We have less than 10 days to spray the maize crops, so we need a machine that will be able to spray more days a year than our conventional trailed sprayer that does not have an air assisted system."
