Growing environmental spray drift concerns challenge vignerons as they deal with urban encroachment into their traditional wine regions.
These drift concerns prompted, HARDI Australia to develop a product that focuses on minimising visual drift and vineyard floor residues.
The new two and three row MERCURY COVAMAX is just another demonstration of responsible product design and development by HARDI.
The over row boom completely envelops the vine row delivering superior spray coverage with significantly less off target drift. The swivel outlets give easy directional control of the spray to the target ensuring converging air generates the canopy turbulence required for uniform spray deposition.
The COVAMAX is powered by the largest fan capacity in ducted air delivery systems on the market. Getting the air to the target is no problem through the less restrictive 8 inch air tubing which is a significant increase in size over smaller rivals.
The completely new hydraulic boom design is a simple but sturdy construction utilising maintenance free non grease bushes for trouble free operation. The new boom is a perfect platform for supporting the COVAMAX air delivery system. It is width adjustable and provides for optional wing tilt operation.
Getting the air to the target
Flexibility of the COVAMAX allows the sprayer to be adjusted to suit varying vine canopies. Individual ball in socket air outlet design provides for smooth rotation and easy adjustment into the right position. Fluid delivery to each section is activated by its own valve and each air outlet can be independently turned on and off.
Up to five nozzles can be fitted to each outlet, giving a maximum of fifty nozzles per row! This allows the COVAMAX to be used in both high and low volume application situations.
The MERCURY COVAMAX can be supplied with chassis suspension for smoother ride and articulated drawbar for confined headlands, allowing the sprayer to track directly behind the tractor.
The optional HC 5500 fitted to the COVAMAX is a user friendly feature packed spray controller that can be used in Unit Canopy Row or Litre per Hectare modes and will record the application history for different products and vineyards. It is easy to read day or night.
