Engine

Thanks to its light overall weight, HELLIOS is able to make maximum use of a smaller and more economical powerplant.

The sprayer is driven by an advanced Deutz diesel engine delivering just 140 HP (104 KW). The engine runs at a low nominal speed of 1500 rpm, which considerably reduces noise levels in the cab.

There is also an automatic engine governor to manage the displacement of the hydrostatic drive motor.

EcoControl / Cruise control

When performing field work, the driver can choose to engage Cruise Control and/or EcoControl mode.

InCruise Control mode, HELLIOS will hold a preset forward speed. This not only optimizes fuel consumption but greatly improves the quality of the spray delivery as well.  Cruise Control can only be engaged for field work.

When EcoContol mode is engaged, the engine speed will be automatically adjusted to the actual torque requirements. The engine will be run at an economical 1500 rpm up to a load threshold of 80%, increasing up to 1900 rpm as higher torque demands are made.

Automotive mode

Designed for on-road driving, Automotive Mode is selected, and provides higher driving speeds from the engine's normal operating range (1000 to 1900 rpm). The mode provides automatic gear changing through a continuously variable transmission range.

When combining the Automotive and Eco Control modes, HELLIOS can be driven at up to 40 km/h while maintaining 1500 rpm.

Automotive Mode should only be engaged when driving on the road.

Transmission

HELLIOS features a hydromechanic rear axle, driven by a 115cm³ H1 hydrostatic pump and an H-1 hydraulic motor with 160 cm³ displacement.

The system is manufactured bySauer Danfoss.
